CORPORATE TAX CREDITS AND MATCHING GIFTS 

Tax Credits for Scholarships (EITC) for Pennsylvania Businesses

If your business or company pays Pennsylvania Corporate Income Tax or other state business taxes, you can donate to the Friends of St. Malachy Fund in lieu of paying up to $300,000 in Pennsylvania business taxes.

Combined with federal tax saving, the cost of donating can be close to zero.  That’s because this is a tax credit rather than a deduction.  Your company or business donation can help the children of low-income families in the Philadelphia area attend St. Malachy School.

Effective for 2008-2009:

Sub-S Corporations and Partnerships can now participate fully in the tax credit program.  Tax credits will flow through to shareholders or partners personal income tax returns.

 

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many donations qualify for corporate matches.  Often, gifts from retirees and spouses of employees also qualify.  The donor should obtain a matching gift form from the company’s personnel office, complete the form and mail it along with the gift.  Our Development Office will then certify the receipt of the gift and return to the company.
